The 3/4 mile Dunes Nature Trail (converted 1970's fitness trail) is located on the west side of the day use parking area.

It was completed in 2009 as part of the Access to Recreation grant. The project improved the limestone aggregate surface, re-routed sections to improve accessibility/slope, and added stamped concrete pads at each overlook/Interpretive stop. Each stop has a wayside display featuring the area's unique dune landscape, history and wildlife. The trailhead also features an audio message repeater with messages, benefitting the visually impaired.
